Interested in pedagogy, Javier obtained the Diplôme d'état de professeur de musique (a french diploma equivalent to a Bachelor degree in music pedagogy) at the CEFDEM de Normandie in 2021. He also attended some training courses at the Philharmonie de Paris allowing him to acquire tools for collective practice and management of students with disabilities. He also participated in trainings of Soundpainting, orchestration and Dalcroze's method, among many others..
In France, Javier teaches at the DEMOS project of the Philharmonie de Paris. From 2016 he conducted an educational practice within the beginner and advanced Demos Orchestras of the Ile-de-France region such as Plaine Commune, Paris, Grand Paris Sud. He'll continue his teaching activity with the Roissy Pays de France Demos Orchestra from september 2025.
Through the cultural action of the Orchestre Symphonique Divertimento, Javier worked as a flute teacher with the young musicians of the municipalities of Cattenom and within the "Académie Divertimento" in Stains, Bezons, Clichy-sous-Bois and Fontenay-sous-Bois in France. . He prepared the flute section for different concerts presented at the Cité de la Musique-Philharmonie in Paris. From 2023 he also started leading workshops about the world of the symphony orchestra as well as the history of music for the LIVE Institut in Marseille, Reims, Clichy-sous-Bois, Roubaix and Le Havre.
He also collaborates with the winds musicians of the Orchestre de l'Alliance during pedagogic concerts in Ile-de-France since 2022 and he is a regulary jury of flute final examens and make makes occasional replacements in differents conservatories in Ile-de-France.
In Venezuela, Javier prepared the young flutists of the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Infantil de Venezuela from "El Sistema" in 2012. In France, he also taught at the École de musique du 7e arrondissement de Lyon, at the Maison des pratiques amateurs de Montreuil and at the Atelier Musical de Fontenay-sous-Bois.
In the school environment, he led many workshops of awareness-raising, extracurricular activities for young children in Paris. He has also collaborated with the Orchestre à l'École program and with the Association Passeurs d'Arts in Cergy-Pontoise. In private, he taught at the Passion Music School specialized for adults, formerly based in Lyon.
In Paris, he has made many replacements since 2015 in different flute classes of the Conservatoires Municipaux d'Arrondissements de la Ville de Paris. He taught from 2018 to 2022 at the Conservatoire Municipal Gabriel Faure and occasionally at the Conservatoire Camille Saint-Saëns, the Conservatoire Paul Dukas, the Conservatoire Maurice Ravel and the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud.
Javier has been Jury of flute examations for the flute classes of the Conservatoire Frédéric Chopin of Paris (2023), the Conservatoire Gabriel Fauré of Les Mureaux (2023), the Conservatoire Municipal de Deuil-la-Barre (2022) and of the Conservatoire Municipal de Musique et de Danse de Stains (2021).
Javier was also guest professor of the "II Monagas Regional Flute Festival" in 2015. He participated in the "InstaFlute" festival during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and he gave a conference at the "II Online Flute Festival" of Junin, Argentina in 2021. The same year, he collaborated with the “Piccolegio” project to publish the “Piccolo Toolbox” from Mexico.
In 2023, he offered in Caracas a Masterclass as a guest teacher to the members of the National School of Flutes of Venezuela.
